Bathroom renovations.

A bathroom is the most plumbing per square foot in the house, and adding one where there was none is a structural and plumbing job before it is a tile job. Savino Construction builds ensuites, family bathrooms and new bathrooms in additions and basements with waterproofing done to a standard we put in writing.

Paper first.

  • Electrical work is inspected under the Electrical Safety Authority's permit.
  • A bathroom rebuilt in place with the same fixtures usually needs no building permit.

Questions about bathroom renovations

Yes, if a drain can reach the stack with the right fall, which is usually the case on a main floor or above and sometimes needs a pump in a basement. We check at the site walk.

Weeks for a bathroom rebuilt in place, longer for a new one with plumbing runs. The schedule goes into the contract.

A membrane system under the tile in the shower and on the floor, tested before tile goes on. It is a line on the quote, not an assumption.

If plumbing is added or moved, yes. A bathroom rebuilt in place with the same fixtures usually does not. We tell you which and file it if needed.

The number comes from the site walk and the drawing.
